Software
An objective of this course is to provide students with a basic understanding of a high level interpreted language called MATLAB , which stands for ``Matrix Laboratory'', as is especially well suited for analysing signals and systems.
There is no requirement for students to purchase this software, although a student version is available. Consult either the on Campus bookshop, or the University Co-op bookshop in Perkins Street for details.
Finally, there is a free (GNU licenced) software package available called Octave which has a very similar (but more limited) functionality and syntax to MATLAB.
